Souq was the leading online marketplace in Egypt in 2020, counting around 125 million web visitors. OLX ranked second and accounted for close to 79 million visitors. Jumia, a major pan-African marketplace, followed with 51.2 million visitors.
The leading marketplace in Egypt "Souq" was officially replaced by amazon.eg in early September 2021.
