The cruise industry's direct spending in the United States increased sharply in 2022 compared to the previous year. In 2022, the direct expenditure generated by cruise line purchases totaled just under 15 billion U.S. dollars, rising from 6.3 billion U.S. dollars in 2021. Over the same period, cruise passenger spending experienced an eightfold increase.
