The United States had 93 operational nuclear power reactors as of May 2024. In April 2023, the nuclear unit Vogtle 3 was connected to the grid in the state of Georgia, with a net capacity of 1117 megawatts electrical. Most of the nuclear plants in the country are located in the east and center of the U.S., except for Palo Verde (Arizona), Diablo Canyon (California), and Columbia (Washington) facilities.
