In a survey from January 2022, news or information circulated on YouTube was the most highly trusted among social media platforms in India as indicated by 17 percent of respondents. Meanwhile, WhatsApp secured the highest share of respondents who moderately trusted information and news they received on the platform, that is 38 percent. Information shared on platforms such as Clubhouse, Signal, and Telegram garnered the least trust among Indian users.
