In the regional election of the Principality of Asturias held on May 28, the Partido Socialista Obrero Español (PSOE) maintained its position as the most voted party by obtaining more than 36 percent of the votes. Nevertheless, the party lost one parliamentary seat and saw the Partido Popular (PP) increase its percentage of votes by approximately 15 percent. The Ciudadanos party lost all of its parliamentary representation by getting 13 percent less votes than in previous elections.
