The television rating (TVR) of Indian Premier League (IPL) season 16 in 2023 stood at 4.72. The TVR is defined as the percentage of households watching the matches, totaled to the match duration. The viewership of IPL was the highest during IPL season 13 in 2020, since then, TVR has been plummeting. Due to the growth of over-the-top (OTT) streaming platforms and services such as Disney+Hotstar, Jio TV, and Yupp TV; digital IPL ratings saw a robust growth compared to TV ratings, across seasons of IPL.
