During a 2022 survey, slightly more than two-thirds (or 69 percent) of responding small and medium-sized businesses (SMBs) from the United States stated that the impact of lack of targeted digital advertising would be somewhat or significantly negative. On the other hand, 6.7 percent of respondents said that there would be no impact.
