Germany and Sweden accounted for most of the nuclear power capacity retirements in the European Union between 2013 and 2021. Germany retired over eight megawatts of nuclear energy until 2021 and planned to exit nuclear energy by the end of 2022. Finland, Slovakia, and France were the only European countries that planned nuclear capacity additions after 2022.
