A 2022 survey carried out among Chief Financial Officers (CFOs) of manufacturing companies showed that logistics and supply chain management were the main procurement function they invested or planned to invest in. In the manufacturing sector, digital procurement was essential to keep supplier data systems, a function nearly 40 percent of surveyed CFOs invested in. Purchase order automation ranked third, with about 36 percent of answers.
