Most of Argentina's wildfire-affected areas are grasslands. In 2022, the extent of grassland across the South American country struck by fires amounted to over 915,000 hectares. This represented roughly 65 percent of the total area affected by wildfires throughout Argentina. Meanwhile, cultivated forests were the least affected by fires that year, at less than 6,000 hectares.
