In 2019, more than three quarters of lesbian, gay, bisexual, transgender and intersex people in France considered that the government's response to the security needs of LGBTI people was not adequate. The people most likely to aknowledge this fact were bisexual (87 percent) and lesbian women (84 percent), as well as transgender people (84 percent).
Between 2020 and 2021 in France, the number of LGBTI assaults recorded by police services had increased by over 22 percent.
