In 2019, more than two-thirds of lesbian, gay, bisexual, transgender and intersex people in France considered that the government was not effectively combating prejudice and intolerance against LGBTI people. The people most likely to consider government action as ineffective were bisexual (79 percent) and lesbian women (78 percent), as well as transgender people.
Between 2020 and 2021 in France, the number of LGBTI assaults recorded by police services had increased by over 22 percent.
