In 2022, it was mostly young people, 38 percent, in Germany who were interested and open to the idea of neobanks. Around 48 percent of people over the age of 65 were critical and dismissive of neobanks. Neobanks are usually fintech firms that provide services only online and due to this are often able to offer more competitive rates compared to traditional banks. Banks such as N26, Monzo and Starling are examples of neobanks.
