As of the third quarter of 2024, the primary reason for internet usage among individuals aged 35 and older worldwide was to find information. The exception to this trend was the 16 to 34-year-old age group, whose main reason for going online was to stay connected with friends and family. For users aged 55 and older, following news and current events ranked as the second most popular reason for internet use.
