Nigeria had 5.94 trillion standard cubic metrics of proven natural gas reserves in 2023. The amount slightly increased compared to the previous year, continuing the upward trend observed since 2016. Nigeria holds the largest natural gas reserves in Africa. In 2022, it exported natural gas amounting to some 29.7 billion standard cubic meters.
