According to a 2023 survey, Chief Information Security Officers (CISOs) in Japan, Brazil, and France overwhelmingly agreed that cybersecurity expertise should be required at the board level, as highlighted by 75 percent or more of respondents. By contrast, countries such as Saudi Arabia and South Korea did not consider cybersecurity expertise such a fundamental requirement compared to the global average of 62 percent.
