Share of adults with bank account in the U.S. 2015-2022, by education
According to a survey carried out in October 2022, there was a clear correlation between the level of education and having a bank account. Only 75 percent of the respondents with less than a high school degree had a bank account in 2022. In comparison, 99 percent of the respondents with bachelor's degree or more held a bank account. The same tendency could be seen in terms of mobile banking: In 2021, the share of banked households using mobile banking to access bank account with college degree was almost twice as high as the share of households without a high school diploma.
