In 2021, paid print circulation was the main source of revenue for the Portuguese press market, generating over 98 million euros. Digital advertising revenues followed, contributing with almost 58 million euros, much more than the revenue arising from print advertising, 14 million euros. Digital paid circulation was the least relevant source of income, as it generated not even nine million euros.
In total, the Portuguese press market had a value of more than 179 million euros.
