The global investments in battery electricity storage additions fluctuated between 2015 and 2021. Capacity additions for battery power storage amounted to 5.7 billion U.S. dollars in 2021, up from 3.2 the previous year. This was the highest figure of the period, while less than two billion U.S. dollars were invested in battery electricity storage in 2016 and 2017.
