Share of TV advertising during intermissions in Portugal 2021-2023, by network
In 2023, pauses between television programs were mostly occupied by commercial advertising in the Portuguese channel TVI, whose intermissions were composed of 89 percent of ads. The state-owned channel RTP1 followed, with advertisements accounting for 82 percent of the content shown during TV breaks in 2022 and 80 percent in 2023. SIC presented a share of 83 percent of ads during intermissions in 2023, while RTP2 displayed no advertising, as it is forbidden on the channel.
