The agriculture, livestock, hunting, forestry and fishing industry is the largest consumer of abstracted water in Colombia, with an estimated consumption of approximately 97,663 hm³ in 2020. This was followed by the electricity, gas and AC supply industry, which that year used some 75,827 hm³ of the total water withdrawn in the South American country. Colombia's largest source of water withdrawal is surface water.
