A survey conducted among Australian shoppers in February 2023 revealed that the most common place for Australians to start their online shopping journey was Google, with more than half of all respondents beginning their product research using the search engine. Just under 15 percent of online shoppers used a direct to retailer website as a product research tool. Only four percent of those surveyed started their shopping journey on a social media platform.
