Over the considered period, advertising costs of sales in Portugal peaked in 2008, totaling over 1.3 billion euros. Television registered the highest costs, reaching the highest value in 2018, at 376 million euros. The costs of radio ads drastically decreased over the considered period, as, in 2008, they totaled 84 million euros, while, in 2023, only 43 million. Outdoor ads saw an intense decrease in their costs as well, going from 187 million euros, in 2008, to 135 million, in 2023. Online advertising, on the other hand, registered an increase in its costs, reaching 250 million euros in 2023.
