In 2019, the number of diagnosed cancers in South Africa was highest amongst the female population, with 43,881 reports. This is approximately 47 percent higher than the 29,843 reports in 2009. The male population increased by around 53 percent from 27,102 diagnoses in 2009 to 41,491 diagnoses in 2019.
