South Korea's Changgyeonggung Palace received approximately 103 thousand foreign visitors in 2023. Not only did this indicate that the numbers had begun to recover after dropping below 10,000 in 2020 and 2021 due to the COVID-19 pandemic, but it was also the highest number recorded during the survey period. Changgyeonggung Palace, built in the mid-15th century by Sejong the Great of Joseon, is designated one of the "Five Grand Palaces" of Korea and is located in the capital Seoul. It was usually serving as a residence for queens and concubines during the Joseon Dynasty, which ruled the Korean Peninsula from 1392 to 1897.
