Fast direct current was the most common power type for the Spanish public direct current electric vehicle charging network between 2020 and 2023. The fast DC charger volume more than tripled between 2021 and 2022, reaching nearly 3,400 units in 2023. In contrast, other types of DC charging were far less common: There were only 1,300 Level 1 ultra-fast DC chargers in Spain at the end of the recorded period.
