In the years 2016 to 2020, over 93 percent of patients diagnosed with melanoma of the skin living in the least deprived quintile in England would survive for at least five years, while patients with melanoma in the most deprived areas had a five-year survival rate of less than 90 percent. Survival rates from melanoma tends to decrease as deprivation increases.
