Number of female cancer-related deaths in South Africa 2018, by ethnicity
In 2018, the total number of female deaths related to cancer was the highest amongst the Black African ethnicity group with 12,698 reports. The white ethnicity group followed with 4,368 reports within the same year. Compared to the overall number of male deaths as a result of cancer, the female Black African ethnicity group was around 12 percent higher with 12,698 reports. However, the number of deaths amongst the female white ethnicity group was roughly six percent lower than the male white ethnicity group with 4,368 deaths.
