Consumer hopes for items exempt from price inflation in Japan 2023
The majority of consumers in Japan hoped that utility fees would remain stable as revealed in a survey conducted in March 2023. With over 59 percent of respondents, electricity and heating fees were the leading expense items for which consumers hoped that the costs will not increase. Food expenses followed as the second most commonly named category, with 47 percent.
