With nearly 4,400 charging points, Catalonia was the Spanish region boasting the largest electric vehicle charging network, despite its electric vehicle sales being less than half those recorded in the community of Madrid that same year. The most popular chargers in the autonomous community of Catalonia were those between 22 and 49 kilowatts, which are typically considered slow direct current chargers, as these made up nearly 1,900 of all the charging points in the region. These were also the most common charger type in the community of Madrid that year.
