Rising food prices were the leading indicator of consumer price inflation among consumers in Japan, according to a survey conducted between September and October 2022. Over 89 percent of respondents realized that prices rose in the past year due to food price inflation. In contrast, the rising real estate prices were an indicator for only six percent of respondents.
