A February 2023 survey in the United Kingdom (UK) found that nearly 63 percent of respondents 55 years and older used private browsing methods to protect their personal information from scammers and cybercriminals. Additionally, approximately 58 percent of those between 35 and 44 years stated the same. The second-most common motivation for browsing privately was stopping advertisers from tracking their online activity. Meanwhile, over 29 percent of respondents between 16 and 24 years said they would like to keep what the websites they visit confidential.
