Share of women living in same-sex relationships in France 2011-2018, by age group
According to the National Institute of Statistics and Economic Studies (INSEE), 116,000 women were living with someone of the same sex in France in 2018. Moreover, this situation has become more frequent between 2011 and 2018, especially before the age of 35. Indeed, the proportion of women in same-sex relationships increased from 0.4 to nearly one percent among 25-29 year olds, and from 0.3 to 0.7 percent among 20-24 year olds. However, this share did not increase among women over 65 years of age.
