Penetration rate of pay TV and DTT in Portugal 2023, by region

As of 2023, pay TV had a penetration rate of 88.3 percent in Portugal, much higher than the penetration rate of DTT, which stood at 33.1 percent. Pay TV recorded the highest subscriber shares in the regions of the Azores and Lisbon, at a penetration rate of 95 and 94 percent, respectively. At the same time, Alentejo registered the lowest share of subscribers. Additionally, the same region registered the highest share of DTT subscribers, at a rate of 38 percent.
