Industrial robot installations grew considerably from 2019 to 2022 except in the role of processing. In 2020 some sectors, such as welding and processing, saw a slump that was recovered in 2021. This slump most likely owes to the Covid-19 pandemic and its negative effect on demand within the industrial sector. The largest growth comparative was in the handling application, most likely owing to a lack of staff in many sectors, particularly in the warehouse industry.
