In a survey conducted in Australia in the 2022 financial year, male respondents in the 55-64 age group were most likely to be a current daily smoker. Approximately 16.3 percent of male respondents aged 55-64 years old reported being a current daily smoker, in comparison to young males aged 18-24 years old, of which 8.8 percent reported being a current daily smoker.
