Less than 21 thousand elevators were produced in Russia over the course of 2022, nearly 34 percent down from the previous year. Over the observer period, the largest production volume of elevators in the country was recorded in 2021 at 31.5 thousand. The decline was due to the sanctions on Russia over the invasion of Ukraine, which resulted in supply chain interruptions. Furthermore, Otis Elevator, one of the leading elevator producers in the country, sold its assets to a local company, Ice Development, which is part of S8 Capital Group.
