According to a March 2023 survey of smartphone users in the Netherlands, 66 percent of respondents reported sleeping with smartphones next to their bed and checking their smartphones within 10 minutes of waking up. Around 41 percent of respondents reported using their smartphones while on the toilet. Additionally, 34 percent of respondents reported openly being addicted to their smartphones.
