In a survey conducted across four Southeast Asian countries in February 2023, 53 percent of the respondents in Thailand agreed to some extent that AI-generated content by chatbots such as ChatGPT might be considered plagiarism. In contrast, the share of Indonesian respondents agreeing with this sentiment amounted to 35 percent.
