Over a third of Spanish respondents to a February 2023 survey were unwilling to make an additional financial effort to purchase a hybrid or electric vehicle instead of a diesel or petrol car. Slightly more respondents were willing to make a financial effort of over 30 additional percent of the purchase for a hybrid vehicles than for an electric vehicle. However, over a quarter of consumers would pay an additional 10 to 30 percent to purchase an electric vehicle, a share nine percentage points higher than for hybrid vehicles.

The source specifies the error margin for the total results is of plus or minus 2.53 percent. Gender, age, and autonomous comminuty were taken into consideration for sampling.
Hybrid vehicles include plug-in hybrid electric vehicles, non-rechargeable hybrids, semihybrids and microhybrids.
