RWE, Lausitz Energie AG (LEAG), EnBW, E.ON, and Vattenfall were the largest electricity producers in Germany between 2018 and 2021. In 2022, Uniper surpassed Vattenfall. That year, RWE produced over 26 percent of the total power generated in the country, while LEAG contributed with an 18 percent share. That year, the leading electricity producer in Germany, RWE, generated 71 terawatt-hours of electricity.
