Most of Egypt's exports were directed towards European Union (EU) countries. As of the first quarter of 2022/2023, some 34 percent of the country's exports reached markets in the EU. Arab and Asian countries followed, with 19 and 14 percent, respectively. Furthermore, Egypt imported most of its products from Asian countries, with a share of 25 percent. Arab countries and the EU followed with a share of 24 and 21 percent of the imports, respectively.
