In 2019, battery-powered ships with a total capacity of around 104 megawatt hours (MWh) were deployed globally. In 2020, the capacity of battery-fueled ships installed worldwide increased to 118 MWh. The year 2021 saw, however, a decrease; that year, vessels with a combined capacity of 78 MWh were deployed globally.
