From the second to the fourth quarter of 2022, there was a steady increase in the total number of jobs in the city of Rio de Janeiro. Despite this increase, the number of people employed in the Brazilian city decreased by 100,000 in 2023. In the third quarter of 2024, employees made up the largest group, with 2.34 million workers.
