In 2022, the contribution from accommodation and food service activities to the gross provincial product (GPP) of Phuket in Thailand amounted to around 58.28 billion Thai baht, significantly increased from the previous year. Due to the heavy reliance of Phuket's economy on tourism, the absence of tourists in 2020 and 2021 had a significant impact on the province's GPP contribution from accommodation and food service activities, which was by far the highest contributor to the island's GPP in pre-pandemic years.
