According to a survey of consumers in the United States conducted in February 2022, 55 percent of respondents reported thinking that private companies should be doing more to protect their users' online privacy. Around 52 percent of respondents had a more negative view of their right to digital privacy, as they reported thinking that there is no such thing as online privacy. Additionally, almost four in 10 respondents reported thinking that their mobile devices listen to their conversations, and suggest products to buy based on what it hears.
