During the period studied, almost half of the surveyed children attending secondary school in Poland had low self-esteem. At the same time, more males had high self-esteem than females (12.6 percent more).

The study was conducted using the Internet survey method based on a prepared research platform (LimeSurvey). Completion of the prepared questionnaires most often took place during computer science lessons or a tutoring hour.
Each student answered the questions contained in the survey independently, using a school computer connected to the Internet. Only those students who completed the questionnaire were taken into account for the final statistical analysis.
