Over 80 percent of businesses in Slovenia stated in a survey that they used advanced digital technologies in 2022, more than in any other Central and Eastern European (CEE) country. Furthermore, Romania had the largest share of firms that reported to have become more digital in response to the coronavirus (COVID-19) pandemic.

The figures are based on a survey which asked the following question to firms: "Can you tell me for each of the following digital technologies if you have heard about them, not heard about them, implemented them in parts of your business, or whether your entire business is organized around them?"
Firms are considered digital if they had implemented at least one of the technologies in question.
The following technologies were considered for different industries: Manufacturing: 3D printing, robotics, the internet of things, and big
data / artificial intelligence. Construction: 3D printing, drones, the internet of things, and virtual reality. Services: virtual reality, platforms (that
connect customers with businesses or customers with other customers), the internet of things; and big data / artificial intelligence. Infrastructure:3D printing, platforms, the internet of things, and big data / artificial intelligence.
