Between 2018 and 2022, the largest amount of clean vehicle grants from the Clean Vehicle Assistance Program was attributed to consumers based in Los Angeles county. Around 5.15 million U.S. dollars were distributed in Los Angeles to help consumers purchase a battery-electric vehicle, and another 1.46 million U.S. dollars were distributed for the purchase of plug-in hybrid electric vehicles. Fuel cell electric vehicle and non-rechargeable hybrid purchases received a lower share of the total grant amount. Los Angeles was the county with the most battery-electric vehicle sales in California in 2022.
