According to a survey conducted in March 2022, respondents in their twenties were the least aware overall among age groups regarding the proposed disposable cup deposit system in South Korea, with just 56 percent aware of the system. In the system, as the name suggests, consumers pay a small deposit when ordering a drink that would later be repaid in exchange for returning the used cup. Although the policy was proposed several times, multiple setbacks have delayed its implementation nationwide.
